Baptism

the-dew-638110_960_720The birth of a child is a really special time and to want your baby Baptized is a natural way to celebrate a new birth.

Everyone is welcome to have their children Baptised in their parish church, whether newborn or older children. During the Baptism service your child will be baptized and with the support of the church, you and godparents, your child begins an amazing journey of faith.

All you need to know about planning and going to a Church of England christening can be found on: churchofenglandchristenings.org. It also includes information about another church service to say thank you for God for your baby.

The Upper Derwent Benefice does not charge for a Baptism held during one of our regular Sunday services, although, most parents make a donation towards church maintenance and upkeep to help secure the church for many generations to come.

To arrange a Baptism please email contactus@upperderwent-thorntondale.co.uk. Alternatively, please contact the local church:

The Church Support Hub also has lots of ideas for Godparents Sunday.

Thank you
